Abstract
Elsie Reford (1872-1967) created one of the country's largest private gardens on her estate, known as Estevan Lodge, at Grand-Métis on Quebec's Lower St. Lawrence. Today the estate, a national historic site and open to the public, is known as Jardins de Métis.
