Title
Identifications et rapports entre majoritaires et minoritaires. Discours de jeunes issus de l’immigration
Abstract
The authors analyze sixty qualitative interviews conducted in Montreal with young people from immigrant backgrounds to determine their attachment to the “Francophone Québec” identity. The authors research found that many of the young respondents have developed a tense relationship with the majority Francophone group, resulting in a detachment from the “Francophone Québec” identity, and that most of the young people self-identify with their country of origin and with Canada. The authors discuss the social and political implications of these results.
