Politics and the Educated Imagination: The Constitutional Thought of F.R. Scott
Abstract
From the late 1920s to the early 1970s, McGill University professor Frank R. Scott (1899-1985) was one of Canada's leading constitutional scholars. However, Scott's intellect transcended academic boundaries and made him a national figure in the fields of law, literature and politics. The author explores the relationship between Scott's constitutional thought and literary intellect. The author also examines how Scott's philosophical insights shaped and were manifest in his constitutional writings.
