Abstract
The "Age of Enlightenment" was introduced into the colony of Quebec by two bilingual newspapers, The Quebec Gazette and the Montreal Gazette, and by the English language Quebec Herald. The author outlines the clubs and societies established to promote science, medicine, and agriculture, as well as local reaction to the concept of revolution.
