Title
L’articulation des identités plurielles à travers l’éducation : l’exemple de quatre écoles juives à Montréal
Abstract
The author points out that Montreal’s Jewish private schools, which host the majority of youth from the city's Jewish community, play an important role in youth socialization within Quebec society. A study the author conducted within four Jewish primary schools (modern orthodox, conservative, liberal and Mesorati Sephardi) examined how these schools integrate the the provinvial Ministry of Education's general curriculum within a Jewish educational project. He argues that this integration results in the youngest generations being socialized in their multiples identities growing up as engaged members of a minority.
