The story of the Joseph family, whose roots in Quebec go back to the 1780s, and the role they played over eight generations in the economic, professional, religious and social aspects of the province. Also includes information on other prominent members of the province’s Jewish community, such as the Davis, Hart, Franks, Hays, Judah, and Solomon families, who were entwined through marriage to the Josephs. The patriarch of this Canadian branch of the Josephs was Henry Joseph (1773-1832).
