Abstract
A history of the region north of the St. Lawrence between Baie St-Paul and the Saguenay. Murray Bay was a favourite summer vacation spot for well-to-do English Quebecers and Americans in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The first seigneurs of the region were the Scottish-born John Nairne (1731-1802) and Malcolm Fraser (1733-1815) in 1762.
