Abstract
The results of a research project carried out as part of a master's degree in Quebec population genetics at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, the objective of which was to evaluate and characterize the nature of the genetic contribution of Irish Quebecers to the French Quebec population. Through the genealogical reconstruction of ascending genealogies of 2,223 French Quebecers who married in Quebec between 1945 and 1965, the authors were able to identify 203 Irish ancestors (114 men and 89 women) who left offspring in this sample French Quebec population.
