Title
A Place of Tide and Time
Abstract
A documentary of the struggles of the 450 inhabitants of the small Anglophone fishing village of St. Paul River on the Lower North Shore of Quebec. The 1992 cod moratorium, which halted cod fishing overnight, devastated the village's economy. Teenagers like Ethan, Brittney, Whitney and Patrick will graduate from high school and leave the village to pursue their education and a future thousands of kilometres away, probably never to return. Meanwhile, their parents cling to a lifestyle they cherish, refusing to accept what seems to be the inevitable future of the village with the younger generation leaving.
