Abstract
Information on Quebec City's former St. Matthew's Anglican Church and Protestant Cemetery. The Protestant Cemetery dates to 1772, and the site was used by Anglican for religious services from 1822. In 1848-49, John Cliff constructed a chapel for the Anglican congregation, which was expanded in 1899 according to the plans of Montreal architect Arthur A. Cox (1873-1944). In 1980, the church became the Saint-Jean Baptist Library, part of Quebec City's library system. The Protestant Cemetery remain protected.
