Title
Les révolutions de Leonard Cohen
Abstract
An examination of the works of Montreal poet-singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen (1934-2016) by researchers, artists, writers and translators whose course, interests and achievements have affinity with Cohen's literary, musical order or sentiment. The editors point out that Cohen's work presents a remarkable concentrate of what makes up the soul of the Jewish world - the desire to escape from a destiny laden with suffering and remissions, the ability to reinvent itself beyond origin, exile and loss - while being "of his time", that is deeply rooted in North American culture. They point out that Cohen's work is especially punctuated by many revolutions that arise in and through language, whether poetic, romantic, musical or spiritual.
