Abstract
An examination of the teaching of Jewish studies at Montreal universities. Although Montreal Rabbi Abraham de Sola taught Hebrew and Oriental languages at McGill University from 1849 to his death in 1882, it was not until the late 1960s that McGill once again offered courses in Jewish studies. Sir George Williams University (incorporated into Concordia University in 1975) followed suit a few years later.
