Abstract
The author recounts some of the business involvements of Lemuel Cushing (1806-1875), an Ottawa Valley pioneer. He was also successively mayor of the municipality of Chatham Township, from 1861 to 1872, and warden of the electoral constituency of Argenteuil until his death.
