|
Abstract |
Letters exchanged between Montreal poet Irving Layton (1912-2006) and American poet Robert Creeley (1926-2005). The events covered by the correspondence start with Creeley’s discovery of Layton’s work and focus on the turbulent circumstances surrounding the 1954 publication (by Creeley’s Divers Press in Majorca) of In the Mist of My Fever, the book of poems that established Layton as a major poet.
