Built in the 1790s (its exact construction date is unknown) in Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue, a Montreal suburb, the first occupants of the building were Simon Fraser and Peter Grant. Both Fraser and Grant were fur traders. The author describes the house and Fraser's association with it.
