Blue Boy in a Black Dress: A Memoir
|
| Abstract |
“Blue Boy in a Black Dress” is a memoir by a Dawson College teacher who looks back on the five years he spent in seminaries studying to be a Catholic priest (and further, to the childhood that led to seminary doors). But the book also looks forward to the fate of organised religion in the twenty-first century. Born (1944) and raised in Regina, Rigelhof joined the seminary in the 1960s but left after a crisis of faith. He retained an academic interest in the history and sociology of religion, becoming a longtime instructor at Montreal's Dawson College.
