Abstract |
Montreal's Saidye Bronfman Centre, renamed in 2007 as the Segal Centre for Performing Arts, first opened in 1967. It was originally named after Saidye Rosner Bronfman (1897-1965) by her children, who give the theatre to the local community in recognition of their mother's long association with and patronage of the arts. The building was designed by architect Phyllis Lambert, Saidye Bronfman's daughter. The building now houses the Segal Theatre, the Academy of Performing Arts, CinemaSpace, Studio, and the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre.
