Abstract |
The Scottish-born David Lynd (c.1745-1802) was a clerk in various courts for most of his working career in Quebec, as well as coroner for the District of Quebec from 1779 to 1792. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1792, a position he held until 1796. As a politician, he supported the English Party on all matters except for a 1793 bill that would have abolished slavery in the colony. Lynd was the owner of at least two slaves.
