Abstract |
The author found that in the period 1971 to 1976, the interprovincial migration rate for Quebec saw more people come to the province than left. However, the majority of interprovincial out migration during this period was done by Anglophone Quebecers, leading to a significant decline in this population. He found that in 1971 some 83,000 Quebecers aged 5 years and older were living in another region of Canada. The majority of these emigrants were Anglophones. The authors concludes that the out-migration illustrates the "revolving-door" mobility of Quebec Anglophones.
