A.M. Klein. Pimontel et les ratés de la traduction
|
Abstract |
Pimontel is the protagonist of a short text by Abraham Moses Klein, written in the late 1940s and left unfinished. Pimontel is a singular being who chooses to devote himself to translating texts from the Jewish diaspora. The failure of this attempt speaks volumes about Klein's attitude towards translation, and hence towards the coexistence and interpenetration of the imaginaries of the Canadian and Montreal Jewish diaspora.
