Three Nations Waring in the Bosom of a Single State: An Exploration of Identity and Self-Determination in Québec
|
Abstract |
An examination of why nationalist Québécois leaders are drawn into implicitly racist arguments to explain why French-speaking residents of Quebec have the right to self-determination and succession, while other arguably equally distinct peoples within Quebec do not. The author singles out Anglophones and Aboriginal peoples as those who could use self-determination theory to argue for their own sovereignty from Quebec.
