Abstract |
The author examines three translational strategies, each of which sheds its own revealing light on the relationship between author and work. One of the three examined by the author is the practice and contribution of Montrealer John Glassco (1909-1981), poet and translator of Saint-Denys Garneau. The author points out that Glassco used many pseudonyms in his creative work and argued for a non-literal poetics of translation as re-creation.
