Abstract |
Henri Julien (1852-1908) became art director of the Montreal Daily Star in 1888. The author focuses on the single year of political cartooning Julien contributed to the newspaper in his two decades with the newspaper. The author concludes that Julien’s cartoons can be seen to conflict with the belligerent anti-Liberal and pro-imperialist editorial stance of the newspaper’s publisher, Hugh Graham.
