Abstract |
The author examines Canadian immigration laws with particular emphasis on the selection criteria for independent immigrants. In particular, the author examines the integration barriers and assimilation experiences of Chinese immigrants who came to Montreal in the Skilled Workers Class after July 2002. The author identifies the reasons why many Chinese immigrants leave Montreal within five years of their arrival.
