Title
Les pratiques culturelles des anglophones du Québec
Abstract
The author argues that since the 1980s Anglophone Quebecers show cultural preferences that are distinct from those of French-speaking Quebecers, and he attributes this distinction to the social implosion following the emigration that has been taking place since the 1970s and the resulting demographic age increase of the population. According to the author, Quebec Anglophones, in contrast to Francophones, have increased the amount of television they watch, as well as the amount of time that they spend reading books and newspapers. They also attend fewer shows. Their cultural practices are focused inward toward the home.
