Title |
Canada's Official-Language Populations, As Shown by the 1981 Census
|
Abstract |
The author reports that the number of Anglophones in Quebec dropped sharply between 1971 and 1981. Between 1976 and 1981, one-fifth of the Anglophone population left the province for other parts of Canada. The author also shows that the anglicization of immigrants lost its importance during this period as a generator of reinforcement for Quebec's Anglophone community.
