|
Abstract |
A day-by-day reconstruction of the events leading to the takeover of the Quebec City-based Price Brothers and Company forestry and pulp and paper manufacturing by Abitibi Paper Company in November 1974. Price Brothers and Company was established in 1867 by brothers William Evan Price, David Edward Price and Evan John Price out of their father's company, William Price and Sons. The Price family ran the firm until the 1930s. In the 1970s, Abitibi-Consolidated acquired the company and changed the name to Abitibi Price.
