Title
Les répercussions des chemins de fer sur la région de Stanstead, de 1850 à 1950
Abstract
The author notes that the history of the formation of companies to plan and build railways in the county, township and town of Stanstead in Quebec's Eastern Townships between 1850 and 1950 is full of attempts, successes and sometimes disappointments. The early efforts of local figures who worked to develop local railways, include Dr. Moses Colby (1795-1863), his son Charles Carroll Colby (1827-1907) MP, and Wilder Pierce (1788-1866).
