Abstract |
A history of the evolution of hockey, and the contribution of the Quebec Bulldogs hockey team to the sport. The Quebec Bulldogs hockey team, officially known as the Quebec Hockey Club, was founded in 1878. In 1920, the team moved to Hamilton, Ontario. The author explains how, in 1879, three students at McGill University, drafted the first regulations for hockey (known as the McGill Rules), which included the number of players allowed on the ice at one time, and the duration of a game.
