Abstract |
A brief note, including a list of officers, of the "old 78th" Foot regiment (also known as the Fraser's Highlanders) which fought under Wolfe during the Seven Years War, including the siege of Quebec, and that was disbanded in 1763. Many officers remained in Canada and some of their descendants became part of the English-speaking elite of Quebec and Lower Canada (e.g. Malcolm Fraser, John Nairne, Simon McTavish)
