Abstract |
The authors discuss the patterns of Jewish intermarriage in Montreal between 1962 and 1972. During this period, according to the census of 1951 and 1961, the endogamy rate (marriage between two persons of Jewish origin) of Jewish marriages in Quebec was ninety-two percent. Jewish males in Montreal during this period had a much higher rate of intermarriage than Jewish females (12% vs 3%).
