Emerging Trends in the Socio-Economic Status of English-Speaking Quebec: Those Who Left and Those Who Stayed
Abstract
An examination of the inter-regional dimensions of socio-economic status and the selective nature of Anglophone out-migration over the past generation. The authors contend that there is emerging in Anglophone Quebec a growing under-class that is noticeably characterized by a sizable visible minority immigrant group in urban settings, and a somewhat marginalized “left-behind” community in rural settings.
