Title
Montreal's Upper Peel Street: How Fast the Past Has Gone
Abstract
A study of the evolution of Montreal's Peel Street between Pine Avenue and Sherbrooke Street. The street was once part of that area of the city known as "The Golden Square Mile" where the country's business elite lived. Most of the nineteenth-century mansions within the Golden Square Mile have been torn down or converted into institutional buildings.
