A Short History of Scotstown, Quebec
Abstract
Scottish colonists first settled in Scotstown in the nineteenth century. The descending Salmon River lent itself to the creation of a hydroelectric dam, and convinced owners of Glasgow Canadian Land and Trust Company to set up business and establish a hamlet there in 1872.
