Abstract |
The Gaspé-born Edward O'Hara (c. 1767-1833)was elected to the first Legislative Assembly in 1792, representing the district of Gaspé, with the help of Jersey merchant Charles Robin. He held the seat until 1800. Following his political career, O'Hara joined the British Army, rising to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and seeing service in India and taking part in the capture of Guadeloupe in 1810.
