Abstract |
Duncan McNab McEachran (1841-1924) was the founder of the Montreal Veterinary College in 1866. He is responsible for the introduction of animal quarantine in Canada to try to prevent the introduction into this country of foot and mouth disease and other infectious ailments. In 1875 he organized the first Canadian cattle quarantine station at Port Lévis.
