La presse quotidienne de Québec en 1900, à une croisée et de monde
|
Abstract |
In 1900, there were six daily newspapers in Quebec City. The author describes what a reader would find in these journals: local or regional news, grouped under headings entitled, for example, "News of the City and District", news from abroad, also in cluster under a heading like "Telegraphic Echoes". The papers also included practical information such as the movement of ships in the port, and various notices (births, marriages, deaths, etc.). Comments on political news were usually published on page 2, underneath the newspaper logo. Part of the newspapers were devoted to entertainment, mainly sports news, specialized pages for children, women or the family and the serial novel.
