In a Breaking Wave: Living History of the Lower North Shore
|
| Abstract |
The author of this book is a French-speaking Catholic priest. When he undertakes to set up an Economic Council on Quebec's Lower North Shore, he enrolls his Anglican confrères and their English-speaking parishioners along with his own French-speaking parishioners and the French-speaking population of the other villages. He points out that not even once in the course of a very hard and long struggle did it occur to the population to divide themselves into religious or linguistic groups.
