Abstract |
The authors note that there are three Hiberno-English speech types in the Ottawa Valley, along with six other varities of English. The area in Quebec examined was Argenteuil County. The authors point out that the English spoken in this area is thought to be a blend of Scottish and Irish types, with Irish characteristics predominating.
