Title
From Rags to Comfort: Women Holocaust Survivors Rebuilding Lives in Montreal, 1947-1958
Abstract
Based on more than sixty interviews and Jewish Immigrant Aid Services (JIAS) case files, the author argues that research focusing on female actors (homemakers) offers a more nuanced understanding of the rags to comfort narrative of Holocaust survivors who settled in Montreal after the Second World War.
