Abstract |
Montreal's Negro Community Centre's "Young Mothers Program" was started in 1983 but ran officially from 1985 to 1987. Its purpose was to help young, single Black mothers to return to school or to prepare for the job market, while encouraging self-esteem and teaching parenting and home management skills. The author outlines the history of the program.
