Abstract |
The author set out to: ascertain the number of Jewish children attending the schools of the Protestant School Board in Greater Montreal during the eighty-year period from 1878 to 1958, as compared with total enrollment of children in these schools; the changes which took place in the percentage of Jewish children to the total enrollment in those schools during that period; the number and percentage of Jewish high school students to the total number of children attending all the schools of the Protestant School Board; and the movement of the Jewish school population as evidenced by the changes which took place in the geographic areas in which those schools were situated in which Jewish students predominated.
