Abstract |
St. Henry was created in 1831 as an English-speaking settlement in the southern section of the seigneury of Rigaud in Vaudreuil County. The area was settled largely by families from Cumberland, England. The author, a descendent of these early settlers, describes their farming life, church and schools.
