Abstract |
A history of the early nineteenth century Scottish community of Godmanchester, better known as Rivière-La Guerre, near the municipality of Saint-Anicet. The village was only inhabited for thirty years. Flooding, caused by the construction of the first Beauharnois Canal, led to the abandonment of the village in the late 1850s.
