Abstract |
The author recalls the lives of his uncle Ken Fraser (1905-1993) and aunt Susie Fraser (1907-2004) and their home in the Eastern Townships village of Cookshire. known as the Dew Drop Inn. According to the author, Ken and Susie were innkeepers, storekeepers and restaurateurs. On top of that, Ken was simultaneously a sign painter, taxi driver and gas station operator. He also was a serious railroad buff, a baseball fanatic and a great storyteller. Susie was a hairdresser, gardener and needle crafter extraordinaire. She also sang in the Church choir and participated in Women's Guild activities. The Dew Drop Inn was torn down in 1994.
