The author outlines the 1893 murder of Omri Edy (b. 1821), his wife Matilda Jane Bush (b. 1833), and their daughter Emma Lucretia (b. 1865) in their home in the Eastern Townships village of Clarenceville. The gruesome murders, which were never solved, were reported in newspapers as far away as Toronto and Los Angeles. The family is buried in the Hawley Cemetery in Clarenceville.
