|
Abstract |
A study of how John Henry Pope (1819-1889), a powerful Eastern Townships federal Conservative Minister, and his son-in-law, William Bullock Ives (1841-1899), also a prominent federal Cabinet Minister, were able to block attempts to control mill owners from damming and polluting the Saint Francis River and destroying the habitat of Atlantic salmon.
