An account of the development of the postal system in Canada, with a chapter on Hugh Finlay (1730-1801) and the introduction of (weekly) mail delivery between Quebec and Montreal in 1763 and between the province and the Maritimes in 1787, and the extension of the postal system into Western Quebec in 1816 and the Eastern Townships in 1818.
