Abstract |
The Halifax-born Power (1804-1847) was educated in Montreal and Quebec City, and was ordained into the Catholic priesthood in Montreal at the age of twenty-two. In 1841 he was nominated Bishop of Toronto. While in Quebec, Power was associated with the ultramontane movement.
