Les communautés anglicanes et presbytériennes à Montréal au lendemain de la Conquête de 1760

Abstract |
The author lists the names of the Protestant chaplains who accompanied the various British military regiments between 1758 and 1760 in the fight for control of New France. He then lists the names of the participants in the 45 marriages celebrated in the district of Montreal by Anglican military chaplains between 1760 and 1766 (the grooms are all Anglophone and all but two of the brides are Francophone). Finally, the author outlines the establishment of permanent Anglican and Presbyterian pastors in Montreal between 1766 and 1801, the establishment of non-Catholic civil registries, and the establishment of the Protestant burial grounds in Montreal.
